Current Postdoctoral Openings

Professor Brooks is currently seeking to identify two highly motivated and talented individuals to fill postdoctoral appointments in his group. The positions will be associated with projects directed toward development and applications of constant pH molecular dynamics and high throughput free energy methods (multi-site lambda dynamics) and in the development of coarse grained models for protein-protein interactions and IDP protein interactions in collaborative studies of transcriptional activation.


Undergraduate Intern Positions

Professor Brooks has openings for interns at the undergraduate level to work with senior postdoctoral associates on programming projects to develop "glue" software for molecular modeling and simulation. Ideal candidates will have significant experience in one or all of the following areas: C/C++, Perl, HTML/PHP. The interns will help to develop software tools and user interfaces for software aimed toward the refinement of atomic level structures into low-resolution experimental data from cryo-electron microscopy. No prior experience in the specific application area necessary as direction and objectives will be defined in consultation with Professor Brooks and his senior associates.


Pre and Post-doctoral positions

Professor Brooks has openings for Pre- and Post-doctoral Associates in his research group in the area of theoretical and computational chemistry and biophysics. The particular research foci within his group include free energy calculations for drug design, protein folding and modeling of large structures and aggregates. Candidates with exceptional records of accomplishment in theoretical chemistry/physics, preferably involving the application of statistical mechanics and computer simulation methods to biomolecular systems are encouraged to apply. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply for their own support from NSF, NIH, NATO, or other sources, although independent support is not a requirement.
